Guys and gals - it was soooo good to ride again last night on the course that I rode my first TT 24 years ago! I felt so alive on the way home, Oasis blaring on the radio (I just KNOW damien can sing like Liam Gallagher) and not a care in the world. Not sure if I needed the double helping of pie and mash that my wife saved for me, but you've got to admire her dedication. just a note to newer members, the standards now are very high. 10 years ago a 26 would probably win it and a mid 27 would probably get you a top 3. Things have changed... for the better. Now I've got to decide whether to commit to the 10s or a Thursday circuit race.

Taking on the World

Nikki Juniper took on the World Champion at Hillingdon last Sunday.

The Women’s Hillingdon GP had a sedate start and then a few attempted breaks until Louise Mahe, who had been active from the start, formed a break with Amy Roberts, Nicola Juniper and Adel Tyson.

Junior World Road Race Champion Lucy Garner  tried several time to escape the peloton but to no avail until Elinor Barker leapt out of the bunch to chase the four breakaway riders. This provided a spring board for Garner and once the pair were together, they worked well to link up with the four lead riders. This group of six soon pulled out a big lead and at one point were in danger of catching the peloton.

Great event, good to see Peter B out and looking well. Wish I had taken my camera, 13 riders all Eagles in club Kit. Couple of riders took the opportunity to do a bit of sightseeing.

Great evening last night, Proper summer and it felt great, good turnout of Eagles too and nice to see everyone. I really love these events.

Well done Chris and Nikki for awesome rides. Did not get off to the best of starts after shredding my tyre on Ferry Lane, I never had a blow out like that before. Thanks Nikki for the wheel, so could get there and race...Thanks to Dave Trethewey for spotting the 4 inch gash in the inner tube and holes in the tyre.
