The Eagle Road Club is a friendly, active club for road cyclists of all ages and all abilities who are interested in racing. We were founded in 1923 by CTC members with the objective of promoting road time trials, and based originally in London by the Eagle pond, Wanstead.
We are fortunate to have a clubhouse in Ugley north Essex, which we use as a base for the open time trials, club time trials and open road races that we organise and run. Additionally we run club ten mile time trials around Abridge in Essex during the summer evenings. If you are just taking up the sport, these events are a perfect introduction to the racing side of cycling.
The club also hosts an active discussion lboard for members to arrange rides, and discuss cycling matters. The links on this site will take you to pages with the contact details for committee members, club records, club time trialling standard times and a whole manner of other things of interest to cyclists.
The Eagle is affiliated to many local and national cycling organisations that benefit our members, such as:
- The CTT
- CTC
- BC
- ECCA
- RRA
- ERRL; and
- 32nd association.
